Trump Appoints the Dark Lord of the Sith as National Security Advisor

Tuesday, March 27th, 2018

Boulder – Today, Mark Williams, a Democratic candidate in Colorado’s Second Congressional District, called out President Trump’s appointment of John Bolton as National Security Advisor.

I’m concerned, very concerned,” stated Williams. “Bolton is the worst kind of warmonger, so much so that even Republicans are sounding the alarm. Under George W. Bush, a Republican-controlled Senate wouldn’t confirm his appointment as U.N. ambassador. For him, the military option is always the strategy of choice.”

Citing Bolton’s checkered history spanning Nixon, Iran-Contra, Iraq, and, more recently, advocating regime change in Libya and Syria and first-strike options against North Korea, Williams declared that Bolton is consistent only in his “extreme and dangerous policies.”

A veteran Air Force fighter pilot with combat experience in Desert Storm, Williams was also an Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Air Force Reserves specializing in Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.

Trump and Bolton are a disaster waiting to happen,” stated Williams. “To prevent yet another conflict, Congress must assert its authority over American involvement in overseas wars. Fortunately, bipartisan consensus is forming. But we must have leaders in Congress who will move boldly and decisively to rein in Trump and Bolton.”

“If I am successful and given the honor of representing Colorado’s Second Congressional District in Congress, you can be assured that you will be sending someone with knowledge and experience in foreign affairs and with the credibility to speak to Republicans,” he continued.

“I am willing to lead Congress in challenging Trump’s foreign policy and in challenging a status quo where a subservient Congress defers its war-preventing authority to Presidential excess.”

Ballots for the June 26th Primary will be available on May 25th upon request at the County Clerk’s office. They will be mailed out on June 4th. For more information, go to
