Boulder – On Sunday, May 20th, candidates for the 2nd Congressional District and Boulder County District Attorney will answer penetrating questions from students who don’t want to be the next mass shooting victims.
“I don’t want to see another mass shooting that takes away our children’s future before it even begins,” stated Mark Williams, Air Force fighter pilot, combat veteran and CD2 Democratic congressional candidate.
A strong supporter of a responsible approach to end gun violence, Williams believes in universal background checks for all gun sales and coordination between all Federal and State agencies to share data; banning gun sales to those on the no-fly list, to violent felons, or those convicted of domestic violence; allowing designated mental health and medical providers to report names of mentally ill patients and those considered a threat to the federal background check system and banning bump-fire stocks and large capacity ammunition magazines.
“I look forward to discussing with the students the root causes and the solutions,” stated Williams.
Other attendees include the two democratic candidates for Boulder County District Attorney, Michael Dougherty and Mike Foote. Joe Neguse, who was schedule to attend, has backed out of the event.
The forum will be held from 2-4PM on Sunday, May 20th, at the Unity of Boulder Spiritual Center at 2855 Folsom Street, Boulder, CO 80304.
